Ukrainian Man Living In Harborough Launches Aid Appeal

A Ukrainian man living in Market Harborough is appealing for donations as he prepares to take much-needed aid to help people from his homeland.
Oleksii, who has family members still in Ukraine, including two brothers fighting with the country’s army, will travel to deliver it to the border with Poland a week today.
He is being supported by churches to collect items needed, which are: sleeping bags, tents, camping mats, thermal clothes, bottles of water (5 litre), non-Perishable food eg: pasta/rice, tins (with ring pulls), nappies/wipes, toothpaste/toothbrushes, sanitary products, antibacterial wipes and bandages.

Oleksii, who has lived with his family in Market Harborough for two years, is also appealing to anyone who could support him with access to a van.
Donations can be dropped off at St Dionysius Church and at the town’s other Anglican Churches after services on Sunday.
