A TV drama is telling the tragic story of how a man who grew up in Market Harborough murdered his older lover following physical and mental torture.
Former churchwarden Ben Field was jailed for 36 years in 2019, following the death of 69-year-old Peter Farquhar in the village of Maids Moreton in Buckinghamshire four years earlier.

The writer of Sixth Commandment, which is being screened on BBC1, says she had to leave out some of the most distressing details for the sake of the victim’s relatives.
Timothy Spall plays victim Peter Farquhar, who was given drugs by Field and fed spiked whisky in the hope that his murder would look like suicide or an accident.
University student Field, who is played by Irish actor Éanna Hardwicke, lost an appeal to overturn his murder conviction in 2021.
