Trial Sees Fire Station Used As Blood Donor Site

Chief Fire and Rescue Officer, Rick Taylor, donated blood for the first time today at the fire station
Market Harborough Fire Station is being used as a Blood Donor site as part of a trial scheme.
The first session was held at the Fairfield Road base this week and if another goes well it will host 12 a year.
The move will save the NHS National Blood Service a substantial amount of cash, as it won’t have to hire other premises for the sessions – Leicestershire Fire and Rescue is providing its space for free!
