Travellers Leave Football Pitches in Market Harborough

A group of travellers have left football pitches in Market Harborough after being served a ‘notice to leave’ by Police.
Around 20 caravans and other vehicles turned up at the site behind Harborough Leisure Centre last night.
The group had to vacate the site by 2.30pm before Police enforced the notice and they did so, of their own accord.
The pitches are used by Harborough Town Football Club and police worked with Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council’s Multi Agency Traveller unit on the matter.
