Transport Firm To Move Main Operations Out Of Market Harborough

Stephen Sanderson Transport is to move the majority of its operations out of Market Harborough.

The haulage and distribution firm, which has been based in the town since 1973, is to create a new major base in Corby, adjacent to its existing warehouse site there.

Sanderson’s, which employs around 130 people, will continue to have presence in Market Harborough, as its site on the Riverside Industrial Estate will be used for vehicle maintenance and secure parking.

The company says an increasing fleet and daily movement of vehicles will demand more space than is currently available in Market Harborough and after exhaustive searches in the area over recent years, has decided that the time is right to move its road haulage and distribution operations to the new Sallow Road site in Corby from May 2022.

The firm has grown to be one of the UK’s leading road transport and distribution companies and Managing Director, Stephen Sanderson said: “Market Harborough has been and remains still hugely important to our business, it has become clear in recent years that we need to increase and improve our infrastructure to deliver on our vision and ensure our business is fit for the future.

“Moving core services to Corby will bring together Sanderson’s transport, distribution and warehousing operations into one location.

“The new site will provide a more spacious, and therefore safer and more efficient working environment for existing employees, as well as widening career opportunities and creating new jobs in the future.
