Train Services From Market Harborough Resume

Train services from Market Harborough have resumed after being suspended when a person was sadly hit by a train.
The incident happened between Leicester and Kettering this morning and the section of track was closed in both directions, while emergency services were at the scene.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police told HFM: “Officers were called to the line near South Wigston at 11.07am today (27 August) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
Trains are now running from Market Harborough, although services are subject to delay and alteration.
