Toys On The Table Appeal Launches

Written by on 20th November 2024

You’re being asked to give generously as the Hfm-backed Toys on The Table appeal launches for 2024.

The appeal aims to ensure disadvantaged youngsters across Leicestershire and Rutland have a present to open on Christmas Day – when they otherwise wouldn’t.

Around 3,000 new toys and gifts were donated in Market Harborough last year thanks to the generosity of local people, with nearly 4,000 children benefiting.

Organisers are expecting another busy year, as cost-of-living pressures continue to impact families.

Harborough District Council is once again supporting the appeal by allowing Harborough Market to be the drop-off point for new toys and gifts.

Bill Bowley is Vice Chairman of Toys on The Table and told HFM the generosity of local people is always amazing:

New toys and gifts for babies through to teenagers aged up to 16 (unwrapped) can be donated at the drop-off point near the Northampton Road entrance of the Market Hall, everyday apart from Mondays until December 22nd.

Council Chairman, Cllr Peter Elliot is encouraging people to support the appeal:
