Thousands Enjoy Hallaton Bottle Kicking

Thousands descended on Hallaton yesterday as the Easter Monday Bottle Kicking took place.
The event, dating back to the late 18th century, saw a parade and traditional ceremonies take place, before villagers from Hallaton and neighbouring Medbourne battled it out in the rugby-style contest in fields between the two places.
It was hard-fought, but Hallaton claimed victory, winning the best of three contest 2-1.
Phil Allen, chairman of the organising committee, spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw about how the day went:
