Thief Grabs Woman’s Handbag

A thief stole a woman’s handbag from her car as she was about to leave a supermarket car park in Market Harborough last night.

Police say it happened in the Waitrose/Aldi car park on Springfield Street at about 8.30pm when a man opened the passenger door, grabbed it and ran off.

They are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101.

The incident followed an attempted theft in the Sainsbury’s car park last week – officers say a 35 year old man was arrested and questioned about that incident and released under investigation.
