Temporary Rail Bridge Nears Competition

The construction of a temporary footbridge over the railway in Kibworth is set to be completed later this month.
It has been going up off School Road during the past two months, after villagers said they would struggle to access schools and shops when the main bridge is closed for demolition work.

Network Rail hope the temporary bridge will be completed during the week commencing October 16th with it to be opened to pedestrians shortly afterwards.
The main bridge near-by will be demolished and re-built as part of work to electrify the railway.
A campaign was launched for the temporary structure as the well-used route would have been completely closed to pedestrians for over six months.
