A talented young boxer from Market Harborough is hoping to book his place in the final of the England Boxing National Schools Championships this weekend.
Jimmy McCann, 11, will take to the ring in Newcastle for the semi-finals, after excelling in previous rounds.

Jimmy celebrates winning last weekend’s quarter finals in Liverpool
Jimmy, a pupil at Foxton Primary School, is hoping to maintain his record of six wins to advance to the final of the competition, which has previously been won by the likes of George Groves, Daniel Dubois and Adam Azim, who all became professional boxers.
George Norman, Headteacher at Foxton Primary School, said, “As Jimmy’s Headteacher, witnessing his performances this year fills me with immense pride.
“His journey to the semi-finals is a testament to his hard work and commitment, and we stand behind him as he continues to make us proud.
“His achievements not only highlight his talent but also inspire our entire school community to reach for greatness.”
