Suspected Drink-Driver Crashes Off A6 Into a Field

A car crashed off the A6 into a field near Kibworth last night, leaving the driver – suspected of drink driving – trapped inside.
Emergency services were called to the stretch of the road at the end of the Great Glen bypass at 7.45pm and firefighters had to cut the man out of the wreckage of the Ford Focus Zetec.

He was taken to hospital with injuries Police say are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
No other vehicles were involved and the A6 was closed between Great Glen and Kibworth for two hours while emergency services worked at the scene.
The man has been reported by officers on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit.
