Eight stolen caravans seized after police raided an illegal travellers’ camp near Great Oxendon have been returned to their rightful owners across the UK.
They were removed from land off the A508 Harborough Road last month, after more than 30 officers moved onto the site.
The caravans had been stolen from places including Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, Ely in Cambridgeshire, Swindon in Wiltshire, and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.
A number of dogs were also removed from the site because of welfare concerns, along with other suspected stolen property.
