Stolen Car Found By Police & Then Stolen Again

It’s emerged a car stolen at knife-point was found by Police but then stolen again hours later from a ‘secure’ compound.

The Audi was stolen from the driveway

The Audi RS3, worth £40,000, was driven off after robbers smashed their way into Phil Chambers and his fiancee Charlotte Gill’s house in Bitteswell, near Lutterworth, before Christmas and demanded the keys.

Police found the car parked up in Coventry, but the recovery yard it was taken to was ram-raided the same night and the car taken again, it’s believed by the same thieves.

Officers at West Midlands Police have since apologised and say the investigation to find the car continues, together with Leicestershire Police.

Phil & Charlotte

Phil said: “Basically these blaggers had gone to the recovery yard and nicked my car at the second attempt from under police noses.

“I’m furious but at least Charlotte and I are in one piece.

“We were fast asleep in bed when the two men burst into our bedroom. It was like something out of a nightmare.”
