Severn Trent To Slash Some Bills By 90% Amidst Cost Of Living Crisis

Harborough’s water supplier has announced a £30m fund to help people struggling to pay their bills.

Severn Trent Water is the first water company in the UK to offer help on such a scale and says those eligible could see bill reductions of up to 90%.

The scheme is set to support an extra 100,000 customers, on top of the 215,000 they already assist.

James Jesic, Operations Director at Severn Trent Water, spoke to Hfm’s Nick Shaw about the new scheme:

Anglian Water, which supplies most of Northamptonshire, says it’s offering £28mworth of support for people who are struggling to pay their bills and in the last year,  helped more than 300,000 customers.

A spokesman said: “Our specially-trained Extra Care Support team can develop a personalised plan for customers who are struggling financially, as well as pointing them towards other help and benefits they could be entitled to..
