Sainsbury’s To Open New Convenience Store In Market Harborough

Sainsbury’s is to open a new convenience store in Market Harborough.

It will be the first shop on the Wellington Place housing estate and will be in one of three retail units being built off Harvest Road, as part of a new local centre.

Sainsbury’s say the store will create a number of jobs, although the retailer is yet to confirm when the ‘Local’ store will open.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson told HFM: “We’re passionate about delicious, high quality food and we want to make it easier for customers to access it wherever we can, so we’re delighted to confirm our plans for a new Sainsbury’s store in Market Harborough.

“We hope our investment in this new development, which will create jobs and a convenient new place for people to shop locally, will benefit the growing community for years to come.”

Gareth Thomas, President of Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce, has welcomed the announcement and spoke to HFM:

HFM understands a national coffee shop chain will move into one of the other units being constructed as part of the development, which will also include 13 apartments, 6 houses and parking.
