Sails Return To Kibworth Harcourt Windmill As Restoration Reaches Milestone

The restoration of the historic Kibworth Harcourt Windmill has reached a major milestone after new sails were fitted to the historic structure.

Specialist contractors began work last year to return the last surviving post mill in Leicestershire, built in the 1700’s, to its former glory.

The windmill, off Langton Road, had been without any sails for five years, when previous ones were removed because they were unsafe.

The final stage of the restoration work is now underway and once complete the structure will be operational again for the first time since the 1930s.
