The speed limit on Gallowfield Road – between the B6047 and Foxton, past Gartree – could be cut to 50mph.

Highways bosses have added it to their ‘Rural Roads Initiative’ list – which details those that currently have a 60mph, but also a high accident rate.
A final decision is expected in the next few months as to whether the reduction will happen.
Meanwhile, Leicestershire County Council is to install new Vehicle Activated Warning Signs on the A6 at Clack Hill, approaching the Kettering Road junction.
It follows a number of accidents in recent months.
