Road Safety Campaign

A group campaigning for the safety of road users and pedestrians in Desborough and Rothwell once a major new housing development begins have hailed their weekend community awareness event a success.
Around twenty members of Rothwell North Working Party gathered with banners alongside the B576 on Saturday morning – saying the route will become too dangerous if construction vehicles for the new 700 home site at Rothwell North are allowed to use it.
A clause in Persimmon Homes’ planning permission with Kettering Borough Council says a “haul road” must be constructed directly to the A6 once the 250th dwelling is built – which the developers have so far seemed unwilling to bring forward.
Kevin O’Brien told HFM the extra link road is needed NOW… so campaigners need to spread the word.
