Road Closes For Five Months For Bridgeworks

Drivers are being warned the road between Fleckney and Wigston will be closed for the next five months so major bridge works take place.
The structure on Newton Lane near Newton Harcourt is to be demolished and re-built at a higher level, to allow for overhead wires to be installed as work on the electrification of the Midland Mainline continues.

The closure came into force on Saturday evening and will remain in place until early March next year, with traffic diverted through Newton Harcourt.
Network Rail has apologised for the inconvenience the closure will cause.
