Harborough’s rail users are being warned there will be major disruption to services during the festive period.
Engineering works means there will be no direct trains to and from London between December 21st and 29th.
East Midlands Railway services will start and end at Bedford, with passengers having to use a replacement bus service to Milton Keynes, so they can continue their journey by rail.

The work by Network Rail includes preparing tracks for the introduction of EMR’s new Aurora bi-mode train fleet next year.
Philippa Cresswell, Customer Service Director for East Midlands Railway, said: “We are working closely with Network Rail and other operators to keep customers moving throughout the festive period; however, journey times will be significantly longer than normal, with rail replacement buses and amended timetables in place.
“It is also likely that services on Friday, 20 December, and Monday, 30 December, will be very busy.
“We would like to thank our customers for their patience whilst these vital engineering upgrades take place.
“This work will directly benefit our customers in the future, allowing the introduction of our new Aurora bi-mode trains.”
