Rail strikes this week

People are being urged to only travel by train from Market Harborough for the rest of this week if absolutely necessary – as rail staff will
be striking again.

East Midlands Railway says services will be severely disrupted on Thursday and Saturday (18th & 20th August) as workers who are members of the RMT and TSSA unions will walk out in the long-running dispute over pay, jobs and conditions.

The company will run a reduced timetable, with trains only operating between 7.30am and 6.30pm and expected to be much busier than normal.

EMR also expects services to be disrupted on Friday as a knock-on effect.
