A prolific burglar who fled the country after being arrested for breaking into a house in North Kilworth has been jailed for six years.
Eagle-eyed neighbours passed Police the registration number of the car used by Gabriel Ursariu to flee Pincet Lane in December 2018 and officers stopped it shortly afterwards.
He absconded while on bail and it wasn’t until earlier this year he was found in Germany and extradited back to the UK, after a European arrest warrant was issued.
Ursariu, 31, of no fixed abode, stole valuables worth tens of thousands of pounds from homes across four counties during 2018, including a phone and camera from the house in North Kilworth.
He was identified to each crime by blood or DNA left at the scenes.
Ursariu pleaded guilty to 12 counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary at Stafford Crown Court.
