Poundland has announced its new store in Market Harborough town centre will open on September 4th.

The national discount retailer is creating up to 16 jobs by moving into the former B&M premises in the Commons Car Park.

Caroline George from Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce told Hfm it will be good to see an empty shop unit getting filled:

Poundland say the store will feature PEP&CO clothing and homeware and a range of chilled and frozen food, that has been introduced to more than 175 of its shops.

The company’s retail and transformation director, Austin Cooke, said: “We’ve been trying to bring our amazing value to Market Harborough for quite some time and we know our future customers have wanted us to be there too. It’s brilliant to now be opening our doors!”

The new store will open in the Commons Car Park

The building where the new store will open is owned by Harborough District Commercial Services Ltd, a company owned by Harborough District Council.

Norman Proudfoot, Director of Harborough District Commercial Services, said: “Poundland is a welcome addition to this vital retail space in the centre of Market Harborough and will help to increase the footfall in an important part of the town centre.”
