The Clarks shoe shop in Market Harborough is set to reopen after closing last year.

A new franchisee will take on the store, creating around eight jobs and bringing back former long-serving manager Julie Hardy.

The store is expected to open early next month, giving the town centre a welcome boost following the previous operator’s unexpected closure in September.

Anthony Coucill, Director of Treadwell Pro Ltd, said: “We’re incredibly excited about the opportunity to get the doors re-opened in the store in Market Harborough, along with being able to welcome Julie back to the store, having been able to rely on her experience to help us re-open in Melton Mowbray at the back end of last year.

“The response from the public from the small snippets we’ve been able to share through her social media account has been inspiring and suggests that the local community are eagerly anticipating our return to the area.”

Treadwell Pro Ltd also operates stores in Kettering, Melton Mowbray, Sleaford, and Louth.

The store is expected to open around Friday 6th March.
