Police Conduct More Checks On E-Bikes In Market Harborough

Police have carried out more checks on E-Bikes in Market Harborough after complaints about them being ridden dangerously.
Officers stopped a number of riders making food deliveries in the town centre today, but found all were complying with legislation.
However, one rider failed to stop for officers and enquiries are on-going to identify them.
Riders of scooters were also targeted.
E-Bikes which go faster than the legal limit of 15.5mph are classed as motor vehicles, so riders must have a driving licence, MOT and insurance.
A similar Police operation last month saw some bikes seized because they were capable of speeds of 40 miles per hour.
