Plenty Of Laughs At Arts Fresco ‘Lite’

It may have been scaled back this year, but there was still plenty of fun in Market Harborough on Saturday as Arts Fresco Lite took place.

Three professional and wacky acts were on the streets as a ‘taster’ for what organisers hope will be the usual larger-scale event next year.

Residents and visitors were treated to performances from Big Mob – a pair of giant Slinkies, Felicity Footloose with her daredevil acrobatics, and MarkMark Productions with a range of walkabout characters such as French chefs, intrepid explorers and the Bee Gees!

As part of this year’s Arts Fresco Lite, local singer songwriters, Zachary John and Giselle also entertained people with songs performed in a number of local shops and cafes throughout the day.

Arts Fresco is funded entirely by donations and grants and this year, due to an unsuccessful national funding bid, and despite the generosity of the existing sponsors and organisers’ best efforts to raise additional funds, Arts Fresco failed to raise sufficient funds to deliver the Festival that the organisers would like.

Consequently, organisers made the difficult decision to run a much-reduced festival as a fundraiser to support future Arts Fresco events.
