Plea To Support Independent Retailers Amid Closure Concerns

We’re being encouraged to support independent business in Market Harborough during the Coronavirus outbreak, amid concerns some could be forced to close down.

The Harbs Collective, that represents many of them, says unlike larger shop chains, the margins for small independent retailers are much less and some will struggle to cope with a major reduction in customers.

Many stores are now offering home delivery and measures are in place to ensure surfaces and things like door handles and kept clean for customers.

People can also use contactless payment in shops to reduce the handling of cash and card machines.
