Plan To Cut Opening Hours At Tips Scrapped

Plans to cut opening hours at tips across Leicestershire have been scrapped.

The County Council proposed shutting its household waste and recycling sites – including in Market Harborough and Kibworth – two hours earlier between April and September at 5pm.

But the move, which would have saved just over £134,000 a year, received some criticism, including fears it would lead to an increase in flytippping, and has now been abandoned.
