Part Of Roof Removed After Cottage Fire
Written by HFM News on 1st March 2021
Firefighters removed part of the thatched roof of a cottage in a Harborough village, amid fears it would set alight.
Six fire crews were sent to Main Street in Peatling Parva on Saturday evening, after a chimney fire broke out.
They identified a ‘hot-spot’ in the roof and carried out the action as a precautionary measure.
Fire crews from Lutterworth, Kibworth, Wigston, Leicester, Shepshed and Loughborough attended the incident.
They covered the exposed area of roof with a sheet and returned yesterday, to carry out a further safety check.
