Parking Restriction Plan For Harborough Street Moves Forward

A plan to ban parking on sections of Walcot Road in Market Harborough has moved forward.
Residents want action to stop people parking vehicles in the street before going into the town centre, which has been causing a hazard.

A formal consultation on putting down double yellow lines down will start in the New Year after the county council received positive feedback to the idea.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire County Council told HFM: “We carried out an informal consultation on a proposed double yellow line scheme last month.
“Based on the feedback we received, we will be progressing to Statutory Consultation in the new year, at a date yet to be confirmed.”
