Parking charges will return to car parks in Market Harborough in a few weeks’ time.

They were suspended when the lock-down came into force in March, but are set to be re-introduced in July, in-line with more businesses opening up.

Final plans are still being made by Harborough Council, but could include more ‘Pop and Shop’ bays, with extended time limits, being made available.

The current bays in some town centre car parks allow 30 minutes of free parking, although it’s thought that won’t allow enough time, with queuing systems in place to get into shops.

The Council says final plans and confirmation of when charges will return will be announced in the coming weeks.
