Parcel Van Found Quickly By Police After Opportunist Thief Strikes

A van full of Amazon parcels was found by Police within 30 minutes of it being stolen from outside a house in Gilmorton yesterday, after the driver left it running while making a delivery.

The vehicle was fitted with a tracking device, that assisted officers in locating it parked up behind the community centre in near-by Peatling Parva, following the theft at 2.30pm.

Police say it’s believed a number of parcels were stolen, along with the driver’s mobile phone and the van’s key.

Pc Paul Farrar from Lutterworth Police is warning delivery drivers about opportunist thieves, and reminding them it is an offence to leave a vehicle unattended with its engine running.

The van is to be forensically examined as part of the investigation in a bid to find who stole it.
