Paraglider Rescued After Getting Stuck In Trees

A paraglider has been rescued after crashing into trees beside the A508 near Market Harborough.

The man was left hanging around eight metres above the ground following the incident between Great Oxendon and Kelmarsh just after 10.30am today.

All emergency services attended the scene near the Clipston turn on Harborough Road and firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to safely bring him down.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The man was stuck in the paraglider, which was suspended between two trees eight metres above the road.

“Thankfully he was not injured and was able to communicate with emergency services.

“The Fire Service used its aerial ladder to help rescue the man and recover the paraglider, and he has been left with paramedics for assessment.”

The road was closed while the rescue took place.
