Overnight Burglary Spree Targets Town Centre Businesses

Three Market Harborough businesses have been targeted in a series of overnight burglaries.

Windows were smashed at Lilybelle Beauty and Nails on St Mary’s Road, ladies clothing store Bebooted on Church Square and Nathan Smith Tattoo Studio on Manor Walk.

Bricks were used to smash windows in door in all three incidents, and CCTV footage appears to show the same man forcing entry into two of the premises.

Cash and a laptop was stolen from Lilybelle Beauty and Nails, and manager Aanisa Morjaria told HFM the break-in has had a significant impact:

Bebooted remains closed today while a clean-up takes place and arrangements are made to repair the front door.

Owner Liz Holmes said nothing of value was taken but told HFM she was left shaken after the break-in, which was captured on the shop’s CCTV after the burglar alarm went off:

The break-in at Bebooted is reported to have happened at around 12.15am, while the incident at Lilybelle Beauty occurred at approximately 2am.

The exact time of the burglary at Nathan Smith Tattoo Studio has not yet been established, although nothing was stolen from the premises.

The burglaries come just days after a similar break-in at another town centre shop Windowsill, with CCTV footage from the latest incidents now handed to police.

Leicestershire Police say officers are carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
