Overall Crime Increases Across Harborough District

Overall crime has increased across the Harborough District in the past year.

There were just over 5,000 reported to Police, a rise of 15% on the previous 12 months, although that year saw a large decrease due to Covid-19 and periods of lockdown.

Incidents of violence and public disorder have risen the most and there has also been a rise in criminal damage and hate crimes.

However, burglary, vehicle crime and shoplifting offences have all fallen sharply and incidents of anti-social behaviour are also down.

Police say despite the overall rise, Harborough remains a safe place to live and work.
