Olympic Champion Visits Harborough!

An Olympic champion has visited Market Harborough today in a bid to encourage kids to get active.

Athlete Mark Lewis-Francis met youngsters taking part in a Easter activities camp, hoping to inspire them to take up more sports and activities.

There was also the chance for them to have their picture taken wearing the gold medal Mark won at the 2004 Athens Olympics, when he was part of the winning Team GB team in the 4×100 metres relay event.

Mark spoke to Hfm during the event:

The event was organised by Everyone Active, the company that took over running Harborough and Lutterworth Leisure Centres on behalf of Harborough Council at the beginning of the month.

Hfm’s Nick Shaw even got a chance to wear the medal!
