‘No Parking’ Plan For Great Bowden

Written by on 12th August 2019

Parking restrictions could be introduced in the centre of Great Bowden following safety concerns.

It would see double yellow lines put down around the junction of The Green, Main Street and Dingley Road.

Leicestershire County Council says it will put the idea out to public consultation if it receives the backing of the Parish Council.

The proposal

There have been complaints parked cars are causing a hazard to motorists and pedestrians in the area.

A Leicestershire County Council spokesperson said: “We were asked by the parish council to design a scheme for double yellow lines in the centre of Great Bowden.

“We are awaiting a response from the parish as to whether they want to go ahead with the scheme, before we go out to consultation.”
