A kitchen worker at HMP Gartree has been jailed for 14 months for smuggling packets of tobacco and a mobile phone inside for prisoners.
Maxine Yeow, 48, hid them in rice pudding tins, but was caught when it was discovered payments had been made into her bank account, totaling £1,000, by an inmate’s girlfriend.
Yeow, of Stuart Street, Leicester, admitted two counts of conspiracy to convey prohibited items into prison at Leicester Crown Court.
