New Water Pipe To Be Laid Under River

A specialist team are to lay new large water pipe is under the River Welland in Market Harborough.

Severn Trent will begin the work off Rockingham Road, close to the railway bridge tomorrow and hope to have it completed on Sunday.

It is part of the final stages of the £2m project to replace water pipes across the town, which began over a year ago, and will also see work taking place across the St Mary’s Road/Kettering Road and Clarence Street junction, where temporary traffic lights will be set-up.

The pavement of the river-side of Rockingham Road will be closed to pedestrians during the work.

Work will also take place next weekend to tidy up the area that has been used as a site compound.
