New Peaky Blinders Film Featuring Kelmarsh Tunnel Released Today

The new Peaky Blinders film, featuring scenes shot on the Brampton Valley Way near Market Harborough, is released in cinemas today.

The former railway tunnel at Kelmarsh played what the film’s creator, Stephen Knight, described as “an important” role in the movie and one of the “treasures you sometimes find when you are filming.”

Filming for The Immoral Man took place in October 2024, temporarily closing a stretch of the popular pathway for a week and creating a large compound to accommodate production vehicles, though the company at the time did not confirm details of the project.

Set in Birmingham in 1940, the film sees the return of Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby in a new chapter written by Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper.

It will be shown in selected cinemas for the next two weeks before streaming on Netflix later this month.

A Freedom of Information request has revealed that West Northamptonshire Council charged over £5,700 for the use of Brampton Valley Way during filming.
