New Leisure Centre Still Planned

A new Leisure Centre for Market Harborough is still being planned.
Harborough Council set-aside £15m for the facility a couple of years ago, although to date no firm proposals have been announced.
Last week a new company took on the contract to run the current centre for the next three years.
Joint Chief Executive at the Council, Beverley Jolly, told HFM work is continuing behind the scenes:
If it goes ahead the new centre could be built in place of the existing one off Northampton Road, or at another location, potentially on the Airfield Farm site off Leicester Road.
A major refurbishment of the current centre could also be considered.
