Plans have been unveiled new build new flats close to Market Harborough town centre which would involve demolishing a dentist surgery.

Other buildings would also be demolished to make-way for the three-storey apartment block at the corner of Fairfield Road and Goward Street, part of which is already derelict.

It would provide 12, one-bedroomed flats and 2 with three bedrooms.

A planning application for the development has been lodged with Harborough District Council this week.

Brite Care Dental say if planning permission is granted, it would re-locate to alternative premises in Market Harborough.

Practice Manager Zafran Majid said: “We have already begun a search for a new suitable location and in the meantime will continue to operate as normal from the current site.

“We will keep patients fully updated.

“We are very supportive of the planning application, as it will provide much-needed affordable housing to this part of the town.”
