New Book About Market Harborough’s History Goes On Sale

The first volume of a new book about Market Harborough’s history has gone on sale today.

The town’s Historical Society have published it following months of extensive research and support from town-based charities, who helped with the costs.

The book was officially launched at an event at the Symington Building last night and covers the period from early times to the 18th century,

The second volume of the series, which will detail from then until present day, is due to be published next year.

It has been nearly 60 years since the last book about the town’s past was published.

Dr Len Holden, Chairman of the Market Harborough Historical Society is one of those who has contributed to it:

The book, priced £15, is available to buy from town bookshops and Harborough Museum at the Symington Building.
