New Appeal After Recovery Vehicle Driver Killed On A47

Police have launched a new appeal for witnesses three weeks on from a crash which claimed the life of recovery vehicle driver in the north of the Harborough District.
Tristian Connell, 37, from the Leicester area, was outside of his vehicle when he was struck by an Audi A4 estate near East Norton, just after 9.20am on January 20th.
Officers want to hear from the drivers of three vehicles which were travelling in front of the car and stopped at temporary traffic lights shortly before the collision.

Detective Sergeant Lisa Wood said: “Our enquiries into the collision are very much ongoing as the investigation continues.
“Today is three weeks on since the incident and I am further appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident who hasn’t spoken to police to get in touch as well as specifically the drivers of three particular vehicles.
“We have information that shortly before the collision these three vehicles were held at the temporary traffic lights on the A47 citybound travelling in front of the Audi. They then proceeded forward past the breakdown vehicle and the vehicle it was recovering sometime between 9.10am and 9.20am.
“If you were in any of these three vehicles, please get in touch with us. You could have some information would could prove significant to our investigation.”
Mr Connell’s family previously said in a statement the father of two was ‘a loving partner, father, son, brother and uncle, who we will sorely missed’.
A 30-year-old woman has been voluntarily interviewed as part of the investigation.
