MPs Demand Re-Think On Development Plan

Harborough’s MP is demanding a re-think of the major development plan that would see an expressway road pass near several local villages.

Neil O’Brien says he cannot support it in its current form.

The scheme has been designed to accommodate 180,000 new homes in Leicestershire over the next 30 years although no exact route for the road – or any alternative plans – have been announced.

He’s joined South Leicestershire MP Alberto Costa and Charnwood’s Ed Argar in calling for a re-think.

The road is likely to pass near villages including Kibworth, Fleckney, Great Glen, Billesdon, Shearsby, Houghton, Broughton Astley, Houghton On The Hill.
