Most Single Bus Fares Across Harborough To Be Cut To £2

Most single bus fares across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire will be capped at £2 for three months from January.
The Department for Transport is funding the £60m in England, to help people during the cost of living crisis and encourage them to use buses.
Operators Stagecoach and Arriva will be among those taking part in the initiative, which will also see children’s tickets frozen at £1 pound for a one-way fare.

With the average single local bus ticket costing £2.80, passengers will save almost a third of the ticket price per journey. In some rural areas a single ticket can cost over £5.
Buses Minister Richard Holden said: “Brits love buses. They’re the most popular form of public transport in England, making up half of all journeys. So we’re investing £60 million to cap single bus fares at £2 to help families, students and commuters and help get people back on the bus.”
