More Shops Re-Open In Market Harborough

People are being urged to support Market Harborough’s independent retailers are more re-open their shops today.

Various measures have been put in place in a bid to make the town centre as safe as possible, including public sanitiser stations and extra space for people to pass each other, with the closure of Church Street and part of Adam and Eve Street to traffic, as well as some on-street parking bays.

Harborough Council Leader Phil King told Hfm the measures will be kept under constant review:

About 70% of the town’s independent retailers have opened their doors again, with others set to do so in the coming weeks.

Jarrod Burke, Chairman of the Harbs Collective, which represents them, said although pleased to be able to re-open, there are mixed emotions amongst shop owners:
