More People Searching For Jobs

Figures released today suggest there has been an increase in unemployment in the Harborough district.

585 people are seeking employment and claiming benefits according to the Office For National Statistics – 310 men and 275 women.

65 more people are out of work compared with last month – with 90 more people unemployed than this time last year.

However, the figure only represents less than 1% of Harborough’s overall population, and the district has the second lowest unemployment in Leicestershire.
