Monday’s fire in East Farndon was arson

Police have confirmed that a fire which destroyed a hundred bales of hay at East Farndon on Monday morning (March 2nd) was started deliberately.
The blaze forced the closure of Harborough Road during the morning rush hour whilst firefighters attended the incident.
Officers are now appealing to the public for information about the arson attack – which happened sometime between 06.40 and 06.57 on Monday morning.

After a separate incident on the A6 at Clack Hill, early the same morning – during which a horse was killed after colliding with a van – it’s been revealed a second horse which was seriously injured has had to be put down.
